Mortar Grouting Pump Technology Principles

May 20, 2026

From a technical perspective, mortar grouting pumps typically employ either a piston or screw type operating mechanism. Piston grouting pumps generate pressure through the reciprocating motion of a piston, drawing mortar from the inlet and pumping it to the outlet. Screw grouting pumps, on the other hand, utilize the rotation of a screw to propel the mortar forward, achieving continuous and stable grouting operations. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. Piston grouting pumps are simple in structure and easy to maintain, but experience greater fluctuations in grouting pressure. Screw grouting pumps offer stable grouting pressure and adjustable flow rate, but their structure is relatively complex and their cost is higher.
