Before starting the mud pump, check for blockages in the inlet and outlet pipes, ensure the front and rear bearings are lubricated with grease, and check that the packing is fully filled.A high-pressure clean water pump should be used during mud pump operation to deliver clean water at a pressure greater than the mud pump's pressure to the leak-proof packing, protecting the packing. The flushing pump must not be shut off while the mud pump is operating; otherwise, the sealing parts will wear rapidly. The appropriate clearance between the impeller and the wear plate significantly affects the mud pump's lifespan. An improper clearance will cause vibration and noise during pump operation, and the flow-through components will quickly fail. Therefore, when replacing the impeller, ensure the clearance meets the drawing requirements. Clearance adjustment can be made using the adjusting screws on the rear bearing housing. The allowable suction head of the mud pump is determined when pumping clean water; when pumping mud, the impact of the mud on the suction capacity should be considered.
